Primer album de esta banda americana que si bien no obtuvo un gran exito comercial, supuso un puente entre la bandas rockeras de los 70's y las emergentes bandas de Heavy Metal de los 80's. Con soberbias composiciones como "Missing In Action", la balada "Come And Gone" ó sobre todo el tema que da título al album "Steel The Light", este disco es todo un clásico del Hard Rock y aún hoy sigue vigente su estilo. Además reseñar la aportación de el guitarrista Floyd Rose que inventó el sistema Trémolo para guitarras, el cual lleva su nombre.
